About Graton California

This town is located at the southeastern end of Green Valley, on the east side of Atascadero Creek. Before becoming Graton, it was named Gray Town and Grayton as its founder was James Gray and J. H. Brush in 1904. About 14% of its population reports German ancestry, and 12% Irish. It started to build apple processing plants and in 1906 the first grocery store was opened by T.J. Jones.
