About Sea Ranch California

It is on the Sonoma County Coast about 90 miles north of San Francisco on Hwy 1.
The first settlers were the Pomos, who gathered shellfish from the beach, before the
Spanish, Mexicans, Russians and Americans. Later on, in 1941 Margaret Ohlson bought the land. In 1963, Castle and Cooke Inc. purchased it from the Ohlsons and had a designer’s team to follow up on the architect Al Boeke vision on having a community that preserves its natural beauty. Today it has a distinctive architecture where the weathered-wood structures merge with nature.
