About Monte Rio California

It is located about 21 miles from Santa Rosa. Nearby communities include Guerneville, Forestville, Graton, Bodega Bay, Occidental, Windsor and Healdsburg. Back in the 1870’s, Monte Rio was just a station for the North Pacific Coast Railroad going from Cazadero to Sausalito, California ferry. It is a small town of about 824 families according to a consensus in 2000. You will find attractions such as a movie theater, amazing river views, fishing, restaurants and other water activities.
