About Cotati California

Cotati is located south of Rohnert Park, approximately 40 miles of San Francisco and divided by Highway 101 and predominantly on the east side of the freeway. It honors its name to Indian chief Kotate, who was part of the Mariano Vallejo’s original land grant. Its unique layout in the form of an hexagon was created in 1845 and has been granted State Historical Landmark status.
Numerous attractions and recreational events are held such as the annual Jazz Festival, Indian Summer Festival, and the Accordion Festival.
