About Duncans Mills California

It is an unincorporated town in Sonoma County and its history goes back when Samuel and Alexander Duncan in 1860 constructed a sawmill. In 1877, Alexander Duncan dragged his mill and another buildings to the river on a float to the new location, and built a sawmill known as Duncans Mills. The land was once part of Don Muniz Mexican Land Grant. Some of the most popular attractions are camping along the Russian River, antique gifts shopping, wine and cheese tasting, and art galleries. It only has about 129 houses, 56 are vacant and 52 are recreational and occasionally used.
